Flying with Cathay Pacific Airlines

Cathay Pacific Airlines is the flag carrier of Hong Kong. Based out of Hong Kong International Airport, the globally reputed airline has won "World's Best Airline" four times and consistently earns top ranks for the quality and value of its services.

The airline serves 77 destinations in 42 countries all over the world and is particularly active in Southeast Asia. It operates flights to many high-profile destinations in North America and Europe. Cathay Pacific is the world's third-largest airline in terms of passenger volume, and it is also one of the most successful.

Recently, the airline added the prestigious Airbus A-330 to its lineup, giving it access to some of the most spacious aircraft in the sky. It's worth mentioning that Cathay Pacific aircraft tend to be spacious – the company only flies extra wide-body planes.

Economy Class

Cathay Pacific's Economy Class cabins are clean, neatly designed, and comfortable. The cabin seats are designed with leg room in mind, and even feature a full six-inch recline. Every seat comes with a four-way adjustable headrest, allowing passengers to snooze with ease.

In addition, every seat has its own USB port and 220V power supply for laptops and other personal electronic devices. Storing these devices is easy – the airline has packed a special amenity storage area into each seat.

Cathay Pacific's StudioCX entertainment system gives passengers access to a broad selection of films, TV series, music, and games – and passengers can stream their own content through the nine-inch display using USB connectivity as well.

The airline includes complimentary menu selections on all of its flights. These include both regional Chinese dishes as well as western favorites, all available alongside a full bar and beverage service available throughout the flight.

Premium Economy Class

Cathay Pacific offers an additional economy class, called Premium Economy, which gives flyers wider, more comfortable seats and greater legroom for long-haul flights where comfort is a priority. However, the benefits don't stop there – Premium Economy passengers get preferential treatment both on the ground and in the sky.

Before boarding, Cathay Pacific's Premium Economy passengers get to enjoy their own dedicated check-in counter where they can bring a greater allowance of baggage. Upon boarding, they get to sit comfortably in their seats before the rest of the plane's passengers board. In flight, Premium Economy passengers gain access to an enhanced menu, an amenity travel kit, and hot towels available mid-flight.

The StudioCX entertainment system is the same for both Economy and Premium Economy passengers, and uses the same nine-inch display. However, Cathay Pacific gives sophisticated noise-canceling headphones to Premium Economy passengers.

Snacks, complimentary beverages and bar service are available throughout Cathay Pacific flights.

Business Class

The Cathay Pacific Business Class is a marked improvement over Premium Economy. Each seat transforms into a lie-flat bed and comes with a seat width extension for greater comfort. Surrounding each seat is a storage console that doubles as a privacy screen.

Business Class passengers have access to large touchscreen TV displays. These displays offer hundreds of entertainment options, including the latest blockbuster movies, music selections from around the world, and more. Noise-canceling headphones are included with each Business Class seat.

Menu options for Business Class passengers offer a complete restaurant experience. Cathay Pacific provides individually plated three-course meals including both Asian and Western selections. The finest wines, spirits, and liquors are included with each Business Class flight you book.

First Class

First Class is the ultimate in comfort and luxury available through Cathay Pacific. The carpeted cabin is designed to promote a feeling of relaxation – with artwork hanging throughout the cabin and private enclosures available for passengers.

Once in your private enclosure, you have access to a dynamic entertainment experience of the highest quality thanks to the airline's BOSE QuietComfort Noise-Canceling headphones. Your wide-screen television display will show you both the latest Hollywood films as well as international favorites.

First Class passengers get their choice of Asian and international dishes, all freshly prepared in the plane's state-of-the-art kitchen galley. Award-winning wines are available for all First Class passengers, and your flight attendants are happy to perform the work of a sommelier in suggesting the best pairings.

Cathay Pacific's main eight lounges are located in Hong Kong airport. Here is where you will find the most luxurious and pleasant amenities before and after your flights. However, the airline also operates lounges in 34 countries around the world – including another 21 lounges in China alone. The airline operates lounges in most of the world's busiest airports, such as Adelaide's, Los Angeles', and both of New York City's.
